Court Administrator II (Land Court) - Honolulu, Oahu

Hawai`i State Judiciary is seeking a Court Administrator II to support the statewide operations of the Land Court and the Tax Appeal Court. This role involves overseeing administrative and operational functions, managing court records, and ensuring compliance with legal standards to promote efficient court operations.

Responsibilities

Develop and implement policies and procedures
Manage court records, case management, and courtroom operations
Coordinate with judges, Judiciary divisions, attorneys, and external agencies
Oversee budgets, personnel, technology systems, and legislative matters
Ensure the accurate processing, custody, and certification of legal documents
Schedule court calendars statewide
Supervise and train staff
Provide technical assistance to the public and legal community
Ensure compliance with applicable statutes, court rules, and administrative policies to promote efficient and uniform court operations

Required

Graduation from an accredited (4) year college or university with a bachelor's degree
Three (3) years of progressively responsible professional, administrative, technical work experience in one or a combination of the following areas: In a court or legal setting, responsibility for supervising or overseeing the operational activities of a unit or section whose primary function is the preparation and/or processing of legal documents
Six (6) months of experience in one of the following areas: Staff Specialist Experience or Supervisory Experience
Six (6) months of progressively responsible work experience in a court or legal setting, social work or administrative program of the courts which involved active participation in and major responsibility for the development of policies and procedures
The education or experience background must also demonstrate the ability to write clear and comprehensive reports and other documents; read and interpret complex material; and solve complex problems logically and systematically

Preferred

A Master's degree in business, public administration or criminal justice administration or a closely related field may be substituted for one (1) year of Specialized Experience
Graduation from an accredited school of law may be substituted for one (1) year of Specialized Experience
