Airframe and Propulsion (A&P) Mechanic

Electra.aero is pioneering sustainable aviation by developing hybrid-electric Ultra Short Takeoff and Landing aircraft. They are seeking an experienced and FAA-licensed Airframe and Propulsion (A&P) Mechanic to handle fabrication, assembly, test, and maintenance duties for both prototype and production aircraft.

Responsibilities

Participates in pre-planning briefing to ensure a complete understanding of the project work scope, man-hour availability, and projected completion date
Ensure proper job planning so that parts and other resources are available in a timely manner to meet milestones and deadlines
Demonstrates proper inspection and repair procedures
Performs aircraft structural maintenance, repairs modifications, and in-depth inspections, experience bucking rivets and repairing sheet metal, composite items, etc
Performs quality checks, using measurement tools and equipment
Troubleshoot systems; disassemble, repair, and reassemble sections and components to maintain full functioning equipment according to Approved Technical Data provided by the customer or engineering
Performs line maintenance duties, activities and maintenance tasks as assigned
Other Duties as assigned

Required

FAA-issued A&P license
6+ years with a high school diploma and experience in general aviation aircraft
A strong work ethic experienced in prototype (experimental) and production (certified) aircraft maintenance and repair with engineering guidance
Experienced with control of non-conforming processes and materials
Experienced with a variety structural materials including carbon fiber, kevlar, fiberglass, foam, balsa, mylar, aluminum, Ti, etc
Aircraft rigging experience required
Must be able to lift at least 25lb
Occasional short term deployments to support customers

Preferred

Inspection Authorization (IA) strongly preferred
Prepreg and wet-layup composites molding and vacuum-bagging experience desired
Aluminum airframe fabrication and assembly experience desired
Electrical wiring, testing, etc. experience
HV experience
Forklift experience preferred
Familiar with Part 5 SMS and Part 21/AS9100D QMS requirements
Able to influence the content of AMMs
Demonstrated knowledge of the Federal Aviation Regulations (FARs)
Licensed Pilot Preferred (FAA, EASA, PPL, CPL, etc.)
US Person (Citizen or Green Card) Preferred
