SMT Technician (NeoDen K1830 Specialist) – Autonomous Drones
DefendEye is revolutionizing emergency response by manufacturing autonomous, AI-powered Search & Rescue drones. They are seeking a skilled SMT Technician to take ownership of their electronics production line, focusing on precision assembly and quality control of complex PCBs.

Responsibilities
Run the SMT Line: Set up, operate, and maintain the NeoDen K1830 Pick & Place machine
Precision Assembly: Handle complex 2-sided PCB assembly jobs
Component Handling: Expertly manage BGA (Ball Grid Array) and uBGA (Micro BGA) placements
Quality Control: Inspect boards for placement accuracy and solder quality (reflow profiling experience is a plus)
Maintenance: Perform routine calibration and maintenance on the K1830 to ensure peak performance (feeder calibration, nozzle cleaning, etc.)
Inventory: Manage component inventory (reels/trays) to ensure production runs smoothly without shortages
Qualification
Required
You must have hands-on experience setting up and running a NeoDen K1830
Proven experience with 2-sided pick & place assembly
Demonstrated ability to handle and inspect BGA and uBGA components
Experience with reflow ovens and stencil printers
Ability to hand-solder/rework fine-pitch components if necessary
You have a hawk-eye for tiny components (0201s, fine-pitch ICs) and hate misalignment
Ability to commute daily to our facility in Hallandale Beach (easy access from I-95)
