Postdoctoral Research Associate - Computational Radiation Protection Scientist

Oak Ridge National Laboratory is the largest US Department of Energy science and energy laboratory, conducting basic and applied research to deliver transformative solutions to compelling problems in energy and security. The Environmental Sciences Division seeks a postdoctoral research associate to work on computational radiation dosimetry and risk assessment, collaborating with scientists and engineers on various projects.

Responsibilities

The successful candidate will interact with a team of scientists and engineers at ORNL in a variety of projects involving internal and external dosimetry and radiation risk analysis
The CRPK provides technical assistance to U.S. federal agencies involved in development of federal guidance for radiation protection and develops many of the biokinetic and dosimetric models recommended by the International Commission on Radiological Protection (ICRP) and applied by U.S. federal agencies
The successful candidate will have the opportunity to assist ORNL scientists involved in these efforts, to gain expertise in biokinetic and dosimetric modeling, and to assist and eventually lead in the preparation of open literature publications in these areas
