Field Finance Coordinator

Responsibilities

Process financial transactions for Samaritans Purse North American Ministries, including invoice payment requests, field expense reports, non-employee expense reimbursements, and credit card transactions
Review, approve, and correct financial transactions and reporting provided by Rebuild Office Managers
Support the Assistant Director of Finance with financial transaction and reporting assistance as needed, including project reporting set up with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems
Train, guide, and direct Rebuild Office Managers to ensure proper financial transaction processing, financial reporting, and budget monitoring to maintain financial integrity
Monitor internal controls and perform periodic assessments to identify risks associated with financial operations within assigned disaster recovery and rebuild sites
Travel to disaster recovery and rebuild sites as needed, including to cover for vacancies, staff leave, or an emergency deployment on a disaster response, while maintaining other assigned job duties
Maintain a strong knowledge of Samaritans Purse financial policies and procedures to assist NAM, MAS, and Facilities in complying with financial policies and procedures
10% of the time in contact with Samaritans Purse beneficiaries (children, young adults, adults at risk), promoting and safeguarding their welfare within the context of Samaritans Purse operations

Required

Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field and one (1) year of related Accounting experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience
Certified Public Accountant (CPA) exam candidates seeking to meet work experience requirements for licensure encouraged but not required
Beginner to intermediate financial analysis skills and general knowledge of Accounting Principles (GAAP)
Strong understanding of accounting internal controls and ability to establish appropriate segregation of duties outside of a traditional office environment
Critical thinking skills and attention to detail
Experience or thorough knowledge of accounting transactions, preparing and maintaining a variety of forms, records, reports, and documentation
Strong communication, interpersonal, time management, and organizational skills
Ability to work with a diverse team in a pressured environment with flexibility and adaptability
Ability to work creatively and independently
Fluency in English (required)
Approximately 60 days/annually travel expectations; required travel documents and vaccinations for entry into foreign countries will be necessary
