Membership & Advocacy Intern
The National Alliance on Ending Health Disparities (NAEHD) is a nonprofit organization focused on eliminating health disparities and advancing equity. The Membership & Advocacy Intern will support membership growth and advocacy efforts, gaining hands-on experience in outreach, policy engagement, and program support.
Non-profit Organization Management
Responsibilities
Support outreach to clinicians, students, community partners, and organizations to grow NAEHD’s membership base
Assist with developing and executing membership recruitment campaigns
Draft or refine membership communications, including welcome messages, follow‑ups, and engagement messaging
Track relevant state and federal policy developments related to health equity
Assist with preparing advocacy briefs, summaries, or alerts for members
Help prepare materials for advocacy campaigns, meetings, or events
Support the CEO with planning and logistics for programs and educational events
Qualification
Required
Commitment to NAEHD's mission and values
Strong interest in health disparities, equity, public health, healthcare, policy, or community engagement
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines
Comfort working independently in a virtual environment
Strong attention to detail and follow‑through
Preferred
Coursework or experience in public health, healthcare administration, or public policy
Experience with outreach, membership engagement
