Research Technician
Inside Higher Ed is a global leader in higher education, and they are seeking a temporary Research Technician to work in the Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine at the University of North Carolina. The role involves supporting the analysis of biospecimens for the NIH Nutrition for Precision Health Study, including specimen handling, tracking, storage, and result review.

Responsibilities
Support the analysis of biospecimens for the NIH Nutrition for Precision Health Study Metabolomics and Clinical Assay center
Support specimen handling, tracking, storage and result review
Follow established protocols for the analysis of samples
Maintain accurate records and coordinate other student volunteers contributing to the project
Flexible work hours outside of Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM are possible for analysis of specimens during off hours (particularly weekends or evenings) and encouraged
Qualification
Required
Demonstrated possession of the competencies necessary to perform the work
Preferred
Previous experience with handling biological specimens
ASCP certification
