Director of Financial Planning and Analysis

Grainger is seeking a highly analytical and business-focused Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) Manager to support budgeting, forecasting, and strategic decision-making across the organization. This role will partner closely with operations and leadership to provide insights, improve financial performance, and support long-term growth.

Responsibilities

Lead the annual budget, quarterly forecast, and long-range planning processes
Prepare and analyze monthly financial results , including variance analysis vs. budget and forecast
Develop and maintain financial models to support business initiatives and capital investments
Partner with department leaders to track performance, identify risks, and recommend corrective actions
Create clear, concise management reports and dashboards for leadership
Analyze trends in revenue, expenses, labor, and cash flow
Support ad hoc analysis and special projects as requested by leadership
Improve FP&A processes, tools, and reporting efficiency
Ensure data accuracy and consistency across financial systems

Required

Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field (MBA or CPA preferred but not required)
5+ years of experience in FP&A, corporate finance, or financial analysis
Advanced proficiency in Excel (financial modeling, pivot tables, formulas)
Experience with budgeting and forecasting software (e.g., Adaptive, Anaplan, NetSuite, or similar)
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills
Ability to communicate complex financial information in a clear, practical way
Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines

Preferred

Experience partnering with operations or field leadership
Knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting principles
Experience in hospitality, real estate, operations-heavy, or multi-location environments a plus
Strong presentation and storytelling skills using financial data
