Senior Account Director
Confidential company is seeking an experienced Account Director to lead a large-scale, consumer-focused pharmaceutical brand and new drug launch. The role involves serving as a strategic partner to clients, leading cross-functional teams, and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards while delivering compelling consumer communications.
Responsibilities
Act as the senior day-to-day client lead for a major consumer pharma brand launch initiative
Build trusted relationships with senior client stakeholders
Lead brand strategy development, launch planning, and ongoing optimization
Translate clinical and regulatory information into meaningful consumer communications
Lead and align cross-disciplinary teams across Strategy, Creative, Media, Digital, Social, PR, and Production
Ensure collaboration, accountability, and consistent quality across all workstreams
Guide teams through fast-paced, high-visibility launch environments
Own and manage MLR, legal, regulatory, and compliance processes across all deliverables
Ensure work meets FDA regulations, client requirements, and agency standards
Anticipate review challenges and proactively guide teams toward compliant solutions
Serve as a resource and mentor on best practices in regulated communications
Champion thoughtful, insight-driven, consumer-first creative approaches
Provide clear, strategic feedback that strengthens ideas while maintaining compliance
Partner closely with Client, Medical, Creative and Strategy leadership to elevate the work
Oversee scopes of work, staffing plans, timelines, and budgets
Maintain financial oversight and support account profitability
Identify opportunities for organic growth and deeper client partnership
Support new business efforts and agency initiatives as appropriate
Qualification
Required
10–12 years of experience in pharmaceutical/drug advertising, agency-side
Demonstrated success leading consumer-focused drug launches
Strong expertise in MLR and regulatory review processes
Proven experience managing integrated agency teams
Excellent communication, presentation, and organizational skills
