Responsibilities
Assist with biweekly payroll for multiple states and multiple EINs
Review and validate timekeeping records, hours worked, tips, and overtime
Maintain employee payroll records, tax setups, and direct deposits
Audit payroll reports before and after processing for accuracy
Respond to employee and manager payroll inquiries in a timely manner
Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local wage and hour regulations
Assist with garnishments, child support, and other wage attachments
Coordinate benefit deductions and arrears as needed
Support quarterly and year-end processing including W-2s and tax filings
Prepare payroll reports and reconciliations
Maintain confidentiality of all payroll information
Assist with internal and external audits and provide required documentation
Qualification
Required
Minimum 1 - 2 years of payroll experience required
Working knowledge of payroll regulations and wage and hour laws
The ability to work both independently and as part of a team
Rigorous attention to detail to ensure fast and precise data entry and processing, and spot errors and discrepancies
Strong attention to detail and accuracy
Self-motivation and organizational skills to manage workload and meet deadlines
Problem-solving skills to find solutions to common payroll problems
Proficiency in Excel and payroll reporting
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
High level of professionalism, integrity, and confidentiality
Preferred
Experience with multi-state and multiple EIN payroll, strongly preferred
Experience with payroll/HRIS systems (Ceridian Dayforce experience a plus)
FPC or CPP (PayrollOrg) preferred, not required
