MEP Coordinator

Responsibilities

Lead, direct, and coordinate all field activities related to mechanical and electrical systems
Ensure work is completed safely, on schedule, within budget, and aligned with contract specifications
Serve as the primary liaison among engineers, subcontractors, suppliers, inspectors, and owner representatives to resolve MEP‑related issues
Develop comprehensive schedules covering engineering, coordination, installation, start‑up, testing, commissioning, and turnover
Utilize tracking tools to regularly monitor progress against the project schedule
Evaluate and approve subcontractor monthly pay applications with an understanding of remaining budget and manpower needs
Provide leadership, mentorship, and guidance to the MEP team
Identify logistical or field issues early and communicate necessary adjustments to coordination teams
Prepare scopes of work with clear divisions of responsibility and specific requirements for temporary operations
Ensure all work complies with contract documents and approved submittals
Lead pre-planning of field activities to ensure areas are ready for installation
Manage manpower allocation, focusing resources on priority systems and project areas
Develop solutions for conflicts between MEP systems and other trades
Co-manage start-up, testing, commissioning, closeout, and turnover with the MEP Engineer
Communicate challenging installation requirements early to allow for proper planning
Co-develop and implement the project’s quality control plan

Required

Bachelor's degree in Engineering or equivalent education and experience related to mechanical and electrical systems
Minimum 4 years of relevant engineering or MEP coordination experience, ideally in mission-critical environments
Strong technical understanding of mechanical and electrical systems used across complex construction projects
Exceptional communication, organizational, and problem-solving abilities
Proficiency with construction scheduling, coordination tools, and general computer applications
Proven leadership qualities with the ability to build and guide high-performing teams
