Supply Chain and Logistics Manager
The British School of Amsterdam is seeking an experienced and highly motivated Supply Chain and Logistics Manager to oversee and optimize their supply chain operations. This role involves managing logistics processes from procurement to delivery and requires strong analytical skills and strategic thinking.
Primary/Secondary Education
Responsibilities
Oversee and manage the entire supply chain process, including procurement, inventory management, order fulfillment, and distribution
Develop and implement strategies to streamline logistics operations, reduce costs, and improve efficiency
Coordinate and negotiate with suppliers, vendors, and third-party logistics providers to ensure timely delivery of materials and products
Monitor inventory levels to ensure accurate stock levels and minimize stockouts or overstock situations
Analyze supply chain data and performance metrics to identify opportunities for improvement
Create and manage logistics budgets, ensuring cost-effective solutions without compromising quality or service levels
Develop and implement risk management strategies to handle disruptions (e.g., delays, shortages, etc.)
Maintain compliance with industry standards, safety regulations, and environmental requirements
Supervise and mentor a team of logistics coordinators, warehouse staff, and supply chain professionals
Collaborate cross-functionally with other departments (e.g., sales, marketing, customer service) to align supply chain and logistics processes with business goals
Stay updated on supply chain trends, technology, and regulatory changes to ensure the companys logistics practices remain competitive and compliant
Manage vendor relationships, including conducting performance reviews and negotiating contracts
Qualification
Required
Bachelors degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field (Masters preferred)
Minimum of [2] years of experience in supply chain and logistics management
Strong knowledge of supply chain management software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, or similar tools) and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
Proven experience with inventory control, transportation management, and vendor relations
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
Strong project management skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills
Ability to work under pressure and manage tight deadlines
Preferred
Certification in supply chain management (e.g., APICS, CSCP, Six Sigma)
Experience with data analysis tools and techniques for forecasting and demand planning
Knowledge of international logistics and customs regulations (if relevant)
Familiarity with warehouse management systems (WMS) and transportation management systems (TMS)
