Head of Engineering (Seed Stage Startup)

The Head of Engineering will build the core platform, work closely with customers to shape product development, and lead a small team while having significant influence on the company's technical direction.

Responsibilities
Design, build, and maintain scalable B2B workflows for private neurology practices
Architect the technical foundation—deciding when to build in-house vs integrate best-in-class tools
Build backend systems, APIs, and data models that power clinical and operational workflows
Develop modern frontend experiences that clinicians and staff actually love using
Develop data infrastructure to generate actionable insights from clinical and operational data
Design systems that support clinical workflows, practice operations, and financial processes
Build for scale from day one in a highly regulated, high-stakes domain
Work directly with neurologists and practice teams onsite to understand workflows
Translate real-world clinical operations into product requirements
Rapidly iterate on features based on live customer feedback
Define engineering standards, architecture patterns, and best practices
Set the technical culture and hiring bar as the company grows
Hire and mentor future engineers as the team scales
Qualification
Required
7+ years of professional software engineering experience
Strong full-stack engineering experience (React + backend systems)
Experience building scalable B2B software or developer platforms
Comfort operating in ambiguity and moving fast in early-stage environments
Product intuition and willingness to work directly with customers
Preferred
Startup or founding engineer experience
Healthcare, fintech, or workflow automation background
Experience designing data platforms or analytics infrastructure
Prior experience hiring or mentoring engineers
