Responsibilities

You will serve as the Deputy Division Head Radiological Controls Qualification School
You will manage, direct, control, monitor, interpret, and seek resolution on all matters pertaining to effective planning and conduct of such program
You will ensure that all personnel in Radiological Controls Qualification School (RCTQS) is properly manned
You will provide day to day direction as it pertains to operations of the Radiological Controls Qualification School (RCTQS)
You will supervise both directly and indirectly through subordinate staff

Required

Must be a US Citizen
Must be determined suitable for federal employment
Must participate in the direct deposit pay program

You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty
You will be required to wear personal protective equipment such as helmets, gloves, coveralls, glasses, goggles, respirators and safety shoes continuously for the duration of the work shift
Work is performed in areas where potentially harmful physical and chemical agents are present
You will be required to participate in medical surveillance programs
This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites
Supervisors in the executive branch have a heightened personal responsibility for advancing government ethics
In addition to the Basic Requirements for this position, your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector
Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Experience applying professional knowledge of Radiation Health, Health Physics, nuclear and radiological engineering, planning and production
Experience applying professional knowledge of reactor plant and nuclear ship design, instrumentation, operating characteristics and casualty procedures
Experience with participation in and support emergency response readiness
Experience demonstrating expert level knowledge of all aspects of radiological controls, managing and executing all technical matters, coordination and oversight of the training program for shipyards, laboratory/prototype sites and fleet command or similar
Experience demonstrating knowledge of shipyards, operations, and communication, policies, practices, and functions of the various departments and commands or similar
Experience providing expert advice on scientific and technical health physics issues
Experience exercising fiscal management by coordinating the preparation of the annual budget and management of funds by monitoring expenditures and reallocating funds based on shifting program requirements while developing cost reduction initiatives without impairing overall Division programs and mission
Must be able to obtain Radiological Health and Radiological Qualifications
Applicants must meet the following positive education qualifications requirements of the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualifications Standards Manual: Applicants must possess a professional engineering degree or equivalent qualifications
