Senior Accountant
CFS has partnered with a local manufacturing company that's looking to add a Senior Accountant to their team due to growth of the company. The Senior Accountant is responsible for supporting financial accuracy, operational efficiency, and cost management across the organization.

Responsibilities
Partner with Procurement to process purchases and evaluate supplier performance
Analyze raw material usage, variances, and material cost trends
Ensure accurate and timely entry of purchase orders, pricing updates, and cost changes into the ERP system
Prepare and post monthly journal entries, including accruals, prepaid expenses, inventory adjustments, and cost allocations
Reconcile key balance sheet accounts and ensure timely resolution of discrepancies
Maintain and document close processes to support accuracy, consistency, and audit readiness
Analyze monthly results and support variance explanations for management review
Assist with preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
Compile supporting schedules for income statement and balance sheet accounts
Ensure compliance with internal controls and accounting policies
Support external audits, internal reviews, and regulatory reporting as needed
Build out a Sage 100 fixed asset module. Maintain the fixed asset ledger, including additions, disposals, transfers, and depreciation
Review and track capital expenditure requests (CERs) to ensure proper approval and coding
Reconcile CIP (Construction in Progress) accounts and close completed projects in a timely manner
Support physical asset verifications and asset tagging processes
Provide reporting and insights on capital spending versus budget
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required
3-7 years of experience in financial analysis, cost accounting, or manufacturing finance
Strong understanding of cost accounting, inventory valuation, and fixed asset accounting
Experience partnering with Procurement or Operations teams (manufacturing environment preferred)
ERP system experience required (Sage 100 a plus)
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
High attention to detail and commitment to accuracy

Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (pivot tables, lookups, data modeling preferred)
