Responsibilities

Architect and develop software for our 3D ECG platform spanning real-time embedded systems, mobile applications, and scalable IoT cloud services
Implement and optimize ECG signal acquisition, processing, and 12-lead synthesis algorithms on resource-constrained embedded platforms
Build secure, HIPAA-compliant client-server infrastructure for real-time cardiac data transmission, device fleet management, and physician review workflows
Develop patient-facing mobile applications (iOS/Android) with seamless device connectivity and intuitive UX
Collaborate with hardware, firmware, and data science teams to integrate AI/ML models for arrhythmia detection and cardiac event prediction
Leverage AI-assisted development tools to accelerate delivery while maintaining code quality and regulatory compliance
Author and maintain design documentation, risk analyses, and verification/validation protocols per IEC 62304 and ISO 13485
Contribute to FDA regulatory submissions (510(k), design history files, software verification and validation)
Establish software architecture patterns and best practices as we scale the engineering organization

Required

BS in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Electrical Engineering with CS concentration
7+ years of software engineering experience (Staff level: 10+)
Strong proficiency in one or more: C/C++, Python, TypeScript, Kotlin, or Swift
Proficiency with AI-assisted code generation tools and development workflows (e.g., Cursor AI, Claude Code, GitHub Copilot/Codex, Gemini, or similar)
Hands-on experience with real-time embedded systems development
Experience developing patient-facing mobile applications (iOS and/or Android)
Familiarity with large-scale IoT client-server architectures —device connectivity, data pipelines, fleet management
Track record of shipping production software in a regulated or high-reliability environment

Preferred

Experience developing software under IEC 62304 within an ISO 13485 quality management system
Background in safety-critical systems: implanted medical devices, cardiac monitors, or equivalent life-sustaining/life-supporting devices
MS or PhD in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field
Wearable device development experience —sensor integration, power optimization, on-body form factors
Signal processing or biomedical engineering background—especially ECG/cardiac monitoring
Experience with machine learning frameworks and deployment of ML models on edge devices
Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE), ANT+, or other low-power wireless protocols
Prior startup experience; comfortable with ambiguity and rapid iteration
