Responsibilities

Own the performance of the sales team, including pipeline health, conversion, and consistent progress toward revenue goals
Set and run a weekly cadence for pipeline reviews, deal strategy, and forecasting to keep the team aligned and accountable
Develop and execute sales strategies to grow revenue and expand SENTIENT’s market presence
Identify and pursue new business opportunities in the residential, hospitality, and contract furniture markets
Lead, mentor, and develop the sales team through deal reviews, feedback, and hands-on guidance to raise performance and consistency
Support hiring, onboarding, and training as the team grows, and help define clear expectations and best practices
Establish and maintain strong relationships with interior designers, architects, real estate developers, and hospitality groups
Act as a key point of contact for high-value clients, understanding their needs and offering tailored solutions
Oversee major projects and high-value sales, ensuring successful execution in collaboration with the design and production teams
Conduct client presentations and product demonstrations, effectively communicating the value of SENTIENT’s furniture and services
Work closely with marketing to align messaging, promotions, and sales efforts
Lead commercial conversations with clarity on scope, timelines, approvals, and next steps to protect the client experience and internal execution
Research and analyze market trends, competition, and industry developments to identify areas for growth
Develop partnerships and collaborations to enhance SENTIENT’s brand positioning and generate repeatable opportunities
Target industry events for lead gen, partnerships, and strategic visibility (ICFF, BDNY, NYCxDESIGN, etc.)
Provide feedback to the design and product development teams to refine and evolve SENTIENT’s offerings
Maintain a clean, accurate CRM and ensure pipeline stages, notes, and next steps are consistently updated across the team
Create and maintain a practical forecasting cadence that leadership can trust
Define and track KPIs that matter (pipeline coverage, conversion, cycle length, win rate, and margin awareness) and adjust the approach based on results
Oversee our Gallery operations to ensure a best-in-class client experience in the showroom and studio
Improve how we sell by refining outreach, qualification, quoting standards, proposal templates, and project handoff to production

Required

Bachelor's degree in Business, Design, Architecture, or a related field
8+ years of sales experience in high-end furniture, interiors, design, luxury goods, hospitality, or related industries (or equivalent track record)
Proven leadership experience, successfully managing and growing a sales team
Experience leading, coaching, or developing other sellers, with comfort owning team performance
Strong network of industry contacts, including interior designers, architects, hospitality professionals, and developers
In-depth knowledge of high-end furniture design, custom manufacturing processes, and project management
Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills
Proactive, results-driven, and capable of making strategic decisions within company guidelines
Must be based in New York and able to work on-site at our Brooklyn studio to collaborate closely with the team
Willingness to travel for client meetings, industry events, and business development opportunities
