The role focuses on ensuring compliance with regulations and promoting a culture of safety, particularly in the maritime and transportation sectors.

Responsibilities
Develop and implement SHE policies and procedures to ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, and USCG regulations
Lead risk assessment and hazard analysis to identify potential SHE issues and implement appropriate control measures
Collaborate with various departments to promote SHE awareness and training programs
Conduct regular inspections and audits of facilities and operations to ensure adherence to SHE standards
Manage incident investigation processes and develop corrective actions to prevent recurrence
Prepare and present SHE performance reports to senior management and regulatory agencies
Stay current on SHE regulations and industry trends to enhance organizational practices
Serve as the primary point of contact for regulatory agencies and external stakeholders regarding SHE matters
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Health and Safety, or a related field
Minimum of 10 years of experience in SHE management, preferably in maritime, distribution, manufacturing, industrial or transportation sectors
Strong knowledge of OSHA, EPA, USCG regulations and standards
Experience in managing EHS programs in terminal, logistics, manufacturing, or industrial environments
Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills
Ability to analyze data and make informed decisions to improve EHS performance
Basic understanding of SWPPP, SPCC, IIIPP, EAP etc
Need to have Director level experience or above
Preferred
Certification as a Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or Certified Hazardous Materials Manager (CHMM) is preferred but not required
