Responsibilities
Perform and assist in complex Interventional Radiology procedures such as angioplasty, TIPS, nephrostomy, and various vascular access placements
Provide specialized care during neuro thrombectomies, leveraging prior experience in this area
Utilize advanced procedural sedation techniques, monitor patients, and manage emergency situations including dysrhythmias and clotting
Follow radiation safety protocols and maintain strict adherence to documentation standards using Sunrise Allscripts, McKesson, and SBAR
Participate in a rotating on-call schedule, including 10-12 shifts per 4-week schedule with 3-4 weekend shifts
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive patient care and effective workflow
Qualification
Required
Minimum 1+ years Interventional Radiology (IR) Technologist experience
ARRT certification
Prior Interventional Radiology experience with a requirement for Neuro Thrombectomy proficiency
Certifications in ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS
Demonstrated competencies in multiple IR procedures such as pulmonary embolization, angiography, central line placements, and vascular closure system management
Ability to interpret and manage procedural sedation and emergency medications safely
Experience documenting in electronic health record systems similar to Sunrise Allscripts and McKesson
Strong understanding of radiation and laser safety protocols
