Responsibilities
Deliver radiation therapy treatments accurately as prescribed by physicians in alignment with National Cancer Institute regulations
Operate complex radiotherapy machinery including Co-60, Linear Accelerators, and Simulators to localize tumors and administer therapy
Interpret physician prescriptions and prepare treatments by obtaining radiographic films and portal verification photographs
Perform pretreatment localization including contour mapping and documentation of physical treatment factors
Monitor patients for radiation reactions, provide patient care, and instruct on safety measures
Maintain detailed records of treatment sessions, radiographic films, and ensure compliance with departmental and regulatory protocols
Participate actively in educational and in-service training programs to stay current with evolving radiation therapy techniques
Coordinate departmental activities to facilitate efficient patient care delivery
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree
Certification in Radiologic Technology (ARRT Certification)
Minimum 1+ years Radiation Therapy experience
Completion of an AAS or AMA-certified program in Radiation Therapy
Current RRT license with three to five years of related experience
Valid New York State licensure
Ability to successfully pass pre-employment health clearance requirements
In-depth knowledge of high-voltage, state-of-the-art radiation therapy equipment and strict adherence to safety standards
