Responsibilities
Administer radiation therapy following physician instructions and patient treatment plans
Input and manage data to operate and adjust radiation equipment accurately
Collaborate with physicians, radiation oncologists, and clinical physicists to prepare technical aspects of treatment plans
Construct patient immobilization devices as prescribed
Maintain detailed patient and billing records, including radiation dosages and equipment settings
Perform routine and complex treatments such as total body irradiation, stereotactic radiosurgery, and various brachytherapy procedures
Prepare equipment and treatment rooms, ensuring compliance with safety protocols
Conduct quality assurance procedures aligned with state and federal regulations
Provide clinical instruction and evaluation for student radiation therapists on the job
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree
Certification in Radiologic Technology (ARRT Certification)
Minimum 1+ years Radiation Therapy experience
Preferred
Proven experience as a Radiation Therapist with proficiency in radiation therapy techniques
Strong knowledge of radiation safety standards and quality assurance practices
Ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary medical teams
Competence in operating and maintaining radiation therapy equipment
Excellent organizational skills for maintaining thorough documentation
