Responsibilities
Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) aligned with students' academic and social-emotional goals
Provide differentiated instruction and behavioral support within a self-contained classroom
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including therapists, counselors, and other educators, to ensure comprehensive student support
Monitor student progress and adjust teaching strategies to improve learning outcomes
Attend planning sessions and team meetings, including extended hours on Tuesdays (until 4:30 PM)
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education
Active Special Education Teacher license
Minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience
Valid Special Education teaching certification
Experience working with elementary-aged students, preferably K-8
Strong understanding of social, emotional, and behavioral intervention strategies
Ability to foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment
Effective communication skills with students, families, and colleagues
