Responsibilities
Administer radiation therapy treatments as directed by physicians, following detailed treatment plans
Set up and adjust equipment controls to regulate dosage accurately
Collaborate with radiation oncologists, clinical physicists, and other healthcare professionals to prepare technical components of treatment plans using patient-specific clinical data
Construct patient immobilization devices per physician orders to ensure treatment accuracy
Maintain meticulous records of radiation dosages, equipment settings, patient responses, and billing, adhering to departmental policies
Perform a variety of radiation treatments, including total body irradiation, stereotactic radiosurgery, and both low and high dose brachytherapy, in accordance with established standards
Prepare treatment rooms and equipment to ensure safe and effective patient care
Follow safety protocols using appropriate protective equipment to safeguard patients, staff, and self
Conduct quality assurance procedures complying with state and federal regulations
Provide clinical instruction and evaluation for student radiation therapists as needed
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree
Certification in Radiologic Technology (ARRT Certification)
Minimum 1+ years Radiation Therapy experience
Preferred
Certified Radiation Therapist credential and relevant state licensure
Strong understanding of radiation therapy procedures and safety regulations
Experience with complex radiation treatment modalities
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to collaborate within the healthcare team
Attention to detail and ability to maintain thorough documentation
