Responsibilities
Provide specialized nursing care to cardiac surgery stepdown patients following ICU discharge
Monitor telemetry and manage dysrhythmias and chest tubes with precision and expertise
Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive patient care plans
Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation using the EPIC system
Support adherence to infection control protocols and hospital policies
Qualification
Required
Nursing degree
Active registered nurse (RN) license
Minimum 1+ years RN experience
Active Virginia or Nurse Licensure Compact license at the time of application
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification
Minimum of 2 years of registered nursing experience
Proven experience in cardiac telemetry/stepdown nursing, including managing chest tubes and dysrhythmias
Experience working with cardiovascular surgery and telemetry patients
EPIC electronic medical record training or willingness to complete required classes
