Responsibilities
Provide direct nursing care for step-down ICU patients with complex needs such as tracheostomies, chest tubes, invasive line management (arterial, central venous), and titratable drips (insulin, heparin)
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including intensivists, hospitalists, and respiratory therapists to ensure optimal patient outcomes
Monitor patients continuously using EPIC EMR and advanced monitoring equipment
Perform and assist with bedside procedures such as chest tube management, PEG tube care, and ventilator support
Maintain accurate documentation and participate in educational modules during orientation
Work 12-hour shifts rotating on a schedule with weekend and holiday requirements
Qualification
Required
Nursing degree
Active registered nurse (RN) license
Minimum 1+ years RN experience
Active RN license with at least 2 years of progressive care or step-down ICU experience
NIHSS certification
BLS certification
ACLS certification
Competency in critical skills including trach care, chest tube management, PIV starts, and glucose/insulin drip management
Ability to pass BCR EKG competency exam
Comfortable working in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
Preferred
CCRN certification
