Responsibilities
Conduct advanced obstetric diagnostic ultrasound procedures such as first trimester scans, nuchal translucency, anatomy surveys, growth assessments, Doppler studies, biophysical profiles, basic fetal echocardiography, transvaginal ultrasounds, portable imaging, amniocentesis, and chorionic villi sampling (CVS)
Select appropriate transducers and imaging techniques, including Doppler, color imaging, M-mode, applying independent judgment for accurate diagnoses
Review patient medical records and communicate effectively to gather comprehensive clinical histories
Maintain and calibrate ultrasound equipment, reporting any malfunctions to relevant departments
Participate in quality assurance initiatives and accurately document ultrasound procedures with appropriate billing codes
Support clinical education by instructing sonography students, residents, and medical students
Perform patient positioning and transportation using safe techniques
Demonstrate ability to care for patients across varied ages, understanding growth and development principles
Qualification
Required
Degree in Radiologic Technology
American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) Ultrasound certification
Minimum 1+ years Imaging experience
Minimum of 1 year experience in a Maternal Fetal Medicine or high-risk obstetrics setting
Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS) with OB/GYN certification by ARDMS
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification for Healthcare Providers
Advanced knowledge of fetal abnormalities and diagnostic techniques
Competence in interpreting sonograms and distinguishing normal versus abnormal anatomy
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Proficient with basic computer applications and electronic medical records
