Employee Relations Manager II
The N.C. Department of Transportation is dedicated to enhancing the economy and vitality of North Carolina through efficient transportation. The Employee Relations Manager II is responsible for managing and coordinating employee relations policies and programs, including disciplinary actions, grievances, and workplace violence initiatives.

Responsibilities
Managing, developing, implementing and coordinating the policies and programs specific to the ER function
Administering Disciplinary Actions, Employee Grievances and Hearings, Employee Assistance Program, and Workplace Violence
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree, typically in Human Resources or related field from an appropriately accredited institution
At least 5 years of experience in human resources, including 2 years of experience in an HR leadership position
Working knowledge of management, Department, human resources, and employee relations principles, practices, and procedures
Experience interpreting State and Federal and Departmental employee relations laws, regulations, and other policies
Experience communicating effectively and professionally verbally and in writing with people of various educational, vocational, and cultural backgrounds
Demonstrated ability to plan, prioritize, and manage the work of direct reports
Demonstrated ability to think analytically, exercise judgment, and maintain discretion in the application and development of ER policies, procedures and programs
