Accounting Technician I (Brown Creek CI)
The N.C. Department of Adult Correction is one of the largest state agencies responsible for safeguarding and supervising adults sentenced for violating North Carolina laws. They are seeking an Accounting Technician I who will be responsible for auditing, analyzing, processing, and managing the disbursement of funds, including verifying daily cash reports and preparing financial statements.

Responsibilities
Receiving the daily cash report and deposit slip of monies deposited and verifying said reports for accuracy
Creating deposit recap for funds to be entered into an Offender Banking system
Creating / keying the journal voucher to the correct account/center so funds can be entered into Inmate Banking System (IBS)
Reimbursing claims, manual checks, expenditures, reconciling financial statements, and preparing financial reports
Qualification
Required
Associate's degree in accounting from an appropriately accredited institution
High school or General Educational Development (GED) diploma and two (2) years of experience in accounting work
An equivalent combination of education and experience
Experience with Microsoft Access, Excel, and Word
Experience using a calculator or adding machine in recording financial data or making computations
Experience preparing standard financial statements and reports
