Responsibilities
You will perform a variety of small arms range operations and compliance functions in support of the Non-Guard Security (NGS) Most Efficient Organization (MEO)
You will perform and monitor standardized procedures of established hazardous waste management to include managing waste collection and disposal area, maintaining Waste Identification Documents (WIDs) on all waste collection containers
You will conduct small arms brass gleaning duties
You will perform and monitor standardized aspects of established environmental program operations
You will perform as the Range Safety Officer (RSO) as needed
You will perform some administrative duties by maintaining files, revise and dispose of files in accordance with governing regulatory procedures
Qualification
Required
Must be a US Citizen
Must be determined suitable for federal employment
Must participate in the direct deposit pay program
New employees to the Department of the Navy will be required to successfully pass the E-Verify employment verification check
Generally, current federal employees applying for GS jobs must serve at least one year at the next lower grade level
Within the Department of Defense (DoD), the appointment of retired military members within 180 days immediately following retirement date to a civilian position is subject to the provisions of 5 United States Code 3326
Males born after 12-31-59 must be registered for Selective Service
You will be required to obtain and maintain a current valid United States driver's license
This position is covered by the Domestic Violence Misdemeanor Amendment (30 Sep 96) of the Gun Control Act (Lautenberg Amendment) of 1968
You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty
This is a bargaining unit position
You must meet the qualifications and be certified to carry a firearm
Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required
Must meet OPNAVINST 3591. 1F Psychiatric Illness requirements
You may be required to obtain a Commercial Drivers License (CDL) with hazardous materials endorsement
Must be at least 21 years of age at the time of appointment
You will be required to wear safety clothing and equipment for the job and work area where assigned
You will be required to successfully complete a pre-appointment physical examination
You will be required to pass a yearly physical and continue to be physically fit
