Responsibilities

Serving as a team member in the Environmental Compliance Department, providing specialized knowledge and experience to develop compliance strategies and reports
Ensuring strict compliance with permits, Department of Energy (DOE) Orders, and Federal and State regulations related to sustainability, environmental management systems, pollution prevention, and resource conservation
Cross-training and conducting field walk-downs with other environmental professionals to support technical recommendations within various environmental science specialties
Applying extensive professional experience, education, and specialized training across environmental science disciplines to lead or support subject matter experts. This includes ensuring monitoring, analysis, and recording of data meet data quality objectives
Utilizing Microsoft Office software (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) for effective written and verbal communication and reporting
Assisting with nuisance animal responses
Supporting National Environmental Policy Act reviews for projects and actions to ensure compliance with Pantex Plant goals, DOE Orders and Policies, and state and federal regulations
Performing other assigned duties

Required

Bachelor's degree: Minimum 2 years of relevant experience. Typical experience ranging from 4 to 7 years
Master's degree: Minimum 1 year of relevant experience. Typical experience ranging from 4 to 7 years
PhD
Requires a Q clearance; however all qualified candidates will be considered regardless of their current clearance status
The ability to obtain and maintain a Department of Energy Q clearance is required
Position may require entry into Materials Access Areas (MAA) and participation in the Human Reliability Program (HRP)
If HRP is required, candidate must complete a counterintelligence-scope polygraph, pursuant to 10CFR 709

As an employee, you may be required to receive and maintain a security clearance from the United States Department of Energy in order to meet eligibility requirements for access to sensitive information or matter
U.S. citizenship is a requirement for security clearance applicants

Preferred

Master of Science degree in an environmental, science, or engineering related discipline with at least three years of specialized environmental compliance experience
OR a Bachelor of Science degree in an environmental, science, or engineering related discipline with at least four years of specialized experience
Environmental compliance-related experience in a combination of the areas listed under 'What You'll Do.'
Specialized work experience including: Supporting the development, implementation, and written reporting of compliance data, and leading permit calculations/applications/negotiations
Substantial professional experience in environmental compliance, sustainability, energy conservation, or permitting for large industrial sites
Organizing, planning, and implementing project management responsibilities
Coordinating effective oral and written communication with various stakeholder groups, including regulatory agencies and other organizations on Pantex Plant
