Surface Mine Conservation Inspector
The Commonwealth of Pennsylvania is seeking a Surface Mine Conservation Inspector to oversee compliance with regulations governing surface mining operations. This role involves engaging in investigative and technical advisory tasks related to the inspection of mining operations and addressing public complaints regarding environmental concerns.

Responsibilities
Oversee compliance with vital regulations governing surface mining operations
Engage in investigative, enforcement, and technical advisory tasks related to the inspection of various mining operations
Oversee coal and industrial mineral surface mines, coal preparation and refuse disposal areas, incidental coal extraction activities, exploration sites, and surface facilities associated with deep mining operations
Investigate public complaints regarding issues such as blasting practices, the degradation of private and public water supplies, environmental concerns, and public health and safety
Qualification
Required
One year of experience as an Environmental Protection Trainee in the surface mining program (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or
Three years of progressively responsible surface mining and conservation experience; or
Any equivalent combination of experience and training
Possession of a valid PA non-commercial Class C driver's license or equivalent
You must meet the PA residency requirement
You must be able to perform essential job functions
