Retirement Technician Trainee
The Commonwealth of Pennsylvania is seeking a Retirement Technician Trainee to join the Public School Employees' Retirement System (PSERS) team. This role focuses on maintaining accurate data in member accounts and communicating with members and employers to ensure the validity of information on accounts across all systems.

Responsibilities
Understand, interpret, and apply the provisions of the retirement code, rules, regulations, PSERS legal opinions, business rules and procedures as they relate to members account and employer reported data benefit eligibility, and determination
Be trained to use new application software, such as V3, workflow, workflow query, and Microsoft tools, that are utilized by PSERS
Perform service requests to determine eligibility, communicating with both members and employers in clear, logical and organized manner
Create and maintain effective working relationships
Perform technical functions such as data verification, benefit estimates, benefit calculations, refund of contributions and interest, and purchase of service
Analyze member and employer account data, calculate and determine necessary adjustments to correct data, correspond with member and employers on data that is missing or needs clarified, confirm systems have responded accurately to actions taken, and identify, review, analyze and ensure the integrity of data as it relates to this position
Qualification
Required
Three years of experience in advanced clerical or technical work which includes or is supplemented by either one year of experience applying basic computer skills and techniques or three (3) credits in computer basics and techniques
Associate Degree that includes or is supplemented by three (3) credits of computer basics and techniques
Any equivalent combination of education, experience, and training which includes one year of advanced clerical or technical work applying basic computer skills and techniques or three (3) credits of computer basics and techniques
Applicants will be considered to have met the educational requirements once they are within three months of graduating with a qualifying degree
You must meet the PA residency requirement
You must be able to perform essential job functions
A conditional offer of employment will require submission of criminal history reports
Benefits
Full-time employment (37.5 hours per week)
Work hours are 7:30 AM to 3:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with 30-minute lunch.
