Development & Events Specialist
Boys & Girls Clubs of Central Florida is excited to be expanding their Development Team and are looking for the best and brightest to join our family. The Development & Events Specialist is responsible for managing a comprehensive roster of special event initiatives, overseeing logistics, timelines, and committee meetings for various fundraising events.

Responsibilities
Manages and coordinates all aspects of the auction for the signature fundraising event, Celebrate The Children, including Live Auction, Silent Auction, etc. in cooperation with the Auction Committee. Responsible for distribution of all auction meeting notices to event committees and preparation of minutes from event committee meetings
Supports all annual regional fundraising events by working with Development Officers of each county/branch to plan, organize, and manage the events. Includes but is not limited to supporting donor appreciation events, and other fundraisers including Be Great Gala, Black & White Ball and other events as assigned
Supports event logistics for series of Faces of the Future breakfasts throughout Central Florida geographic footprint
Trains and manages all auction volunteers for fundraising events in conjunction with Volunteer Manager and ensures the event process is efficiently and appropriately managed
Prepares requests for proposals and secures event related vendor contracts as well as in-kind donations from vendors. Negotiates with restaurants, hotels, and other vendors for departmental events and follows through on contract execution
Manages and maintains accurate records of registration and event logistics. Accurately records event related information into the Raiser's Edge database
Provides marketing support for assigned events including; collateral materials related fundraising events, design of invitations, setting up marketing materials at events, necessary slide shows, awards, event eblasts, etc
Performs other related duties and responsibilities as required or as assigned to support Development Department
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university
A minimum of three to five years work experience in non-profit, including organizing small and large-scale special events
Strong oral and written communication skills both verbal and written
Ability to generate interest in the company or program and reach out to appropriate business partners
Strategic and creative thinker, proactive, driven, highly organized with demonstrated hands-on experience and the ability to multi-task, handle pressure and meet deadlines
Strong project management and revenue management
Understanding of basic fundraising and sales principles
Highly competent computer skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point, and other related programs
Highly competent working independently and with a team
