Responsibilities
UX Definition & Prototyping: Lead the creation of detailed wireframes and high-fidelity prototypes for critical workflows, moving from discovery-validated concepts to build-ready designs
Device-Specific Optimization: Direct the assessment and design for specific hardware devices, ensuring that the interface is optimized for various screen sizes and retail environments
API-Driven Design: Work closely with technical teams to ensure that the UX remains performant and user-centric while interfacing with a complex API routing layer and legacy backends
Design System Stewardship: Maintain and evolve the design system to ensure consistency across the MVP, while preparing the foundation for future multi-vertical expansions
Workflow Validation: Partner with UX Researchers to iterate on designs based on usability testing, specifically focusing on refining the quoting and inventory management experience
Mentorship & Execution: Provide direct design guidance to junior/mid-level designers, ensuring all deliverables meet the highest standards of visual and functional quality
Qualification
Required
Deep experience in designing Point of Sale (POS) or transactional interfaces where speed and accuracy are paramount
Understanding of how API-based integrations affect UI states (e.g., loading states, error handling for legacy data)
Experience designing for physical touchpoints, including handheld devices and stationary retail terminals
Ability to lead design sprints within a structured 'Build' phase to meet aggressive pilot rollout targets
Mastery of Figma and prototyping tools, with a strong emphasis on component-based design and auto-layout
