Responsibilities
Lead field installation, wiring, and commissioning of PLC systems for industrial automation and BMS applications
Troubleshoot PLC programs and field devices, ensuring smooth communication with SCADA or HMI platforms (e.g., Ignition)
Coordinate with engineers and project managers to execute startup plans and ensure systems are installed per design specs
Interface with clients during commissioning, provide support during startup, and resolve technical issues
Configure protocols such as Modbus, BACnet, and OPC UA across various devices
Develop as-built documentation, redlines, and commissioning checklists
Mentor and coach junior technicians in the field
Manage materials, timelines, and priorities across multiple active job sites
Qualification
Required
5+ years of hands-on experience with PLC systems in construction or industrial settings
Proficiency with PLC platforms such as Allen-Bradley, Siemens, or Schneider Electric
Experience with SCADA/HMI systems and industrial networking
Familiarity with protocols like Modbus, MQTT, OPC UA, and BACnet
Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, network diagrams, and mechanical plans
Proven ability to lead field crews, delegate tasks, and manage competing priorities
Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
Willingness to travel to project sites (85%)
