Mechanical Engineer – Mid Level (Hybrid)

Barr Engineering Co. is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to join their Ann Arbor, Michigan team. In this hybrid role, you will support the Engineering and Design business unit by preparing detailed engineering designs for various pipeline systems projects and providing remote and onsite services for equipment maintenance and installation.

Responsibilities

Providing remote and onsite services including troubleshooting, preventive maintenance, breakdown maintenance on Hydrogen Generators, Compressors, Dispensers and Storage systems
Planning and executing the installation of equipment including compressors, generators, dispensers, storage units and chillers at customer sites
Monitoring and remotely operating Control system for Generators and Compressors
Developing and implementing standard operating procedures, maintenance procedures and schedule for all hydrogen generation, compression and dispensing equipment on the site, specialized equipment used includes: high pressure piping, hydraulically driven dual stage and dual acting compressors, gas pressure boosters, refrigerant chillers, fan coil units Steam methane reformers, and Hydrogen dispensers SAE J2601
Developing Purge plans, Outage procedures, Hazardous classification drawings, and compressible fluid flow calculations

Required

Master's degree or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering, or a related engineering field and three (3) years of experience working as a Mechanical Engineer; or
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering field and five (5) years related (progressive, post-baccalaureate) experience working as a Mechanical Engineer
Must have at least 24 months of experience with each of the key responsibilities listed
Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for sponsorship by Barr, now or in the future
