Disneyland Fire Protection Engineering Intern, Fall 2026
The Walt Disney Company is seeking a Disneyland Fire Protection Engineering Intern for the Fall 2026 program. This role involves assisting project engineers and architects with various tasks related to fire protection engineering and facility safety, while gaining practical knowledge and experience in the field.

Responsibilities
Assist project engineers (Civil, Fire Protection, Structural, Mechanical, Plumbing, and Electrical), architects, and partners in all phases of project work, from drafting, on-site as-built documentation, code research/ analysis, design coordination with outside design consultants, field data collection, light design/ production work, construction administration, and project closeout documentation for a variety of projects ranging in scope from minor rehabs to building new facilities
Assist and consult on general facility fire and life safety inquiries by resort partners
Review submittals from fire sprinkler and fire alarm contractors for compliance with FM standards, Disney standards, NFPA codes, and the California Fire Code
Review submittals from outside design consultants for compliance with FM standards, Disney standards, NFPA codes, and the California Fire Code
Assist facility engineers with integrated safety systems testing
Qualification
Required
Prior related work experience is desired, including co-op/intern programs with a focus on engineering or construction
Coursework or prior experience in Mass & Heat Transfer, Fluid Dynamics, and Thermodynamics
Coursework or prior experience in Building, Fire, and Mechanical Codes (California edition preferred)
Demonstrated/proven strong leadership, technical and interpersonal skills
Self-starter with demonstrated initiative - able to handle multiple tasks and priorities
Availability to work various shifts based on project requirements
Junior, Senior or Graduate student currently enrolled in a Bachelor or Master's Degree at an accredited 4-year College or University studying Fire Protection Engineering or Mechanical Engineering or related engineering discipline
GPA of 3.0 or higher as shown on a transcript
Be enrolled in an accredited college/university pursuing a degree taking at least one class at time of application posting OR currently participating in a Disney College Program or Disney Internship
Be at least 18 years of age
Possess unrestricted work authorization
Have not completed one year of continual employment on a Disney internship or Disney College Program
Be compliant with The Disney Look appearance guidelines
Able to have a consistent, reliable work schedule throughout the internship
Fully available Monday thru Friday, PST for the duration of the internship, 40 hours each week
Able to provide own housing for the duration internship program in the Anaheim, CA area
Able to provide/have reliable transportation to/from work
Preferred
Coursework or prior experience in Building, Fire, and Mechanical Codes (California edition preferred)
Experience working with AutoCAD, REVIT and/or BIM (Building Information Modeling)
Coursework or prior experience in NFPA codes (13, 14, 30, 72, 92, 96, 400) and FM datasheets
Coursework or prior experience in Smoke Management, Fire Dynamics, Fire Modeling, Performance Based Design, Human Response to Fire, and Water Based Fire Suppression Systems
