Disneyland Mechanical Engineering Intern, Fall 2026

The Walt Disney Company is seeking a Mechanical Engineering Intern for their Disneyland Resort. This internship will provide opportunities to assist GE&T Engineers on various projects, including Attractions and Maintenance, while developing professional skills in mechanical engineering.

Responsibilities

Drafting, onsite as-built documentation, design coordination with outside design consultants, field data collection and testing, and recommending corrective actions (including justification)
Developing Attraction requirements and designing opportunities and condition assessments
Must demonstrate a solid understanding of Solidworks and/or AutoCAD
May possibly be working with Sustaining Engineering tasks including downtime response and small attraction improvement efforts
Close-out documentation for a variety of tasks ranging in scope from minor design changes to implementing new Attractions
Comply with all applicable company, state, and Federal legal codes, policies, and regulations
Provide timely, clear, concise communication to management, customers, partners, and team members about work status and impact to Resort availability

Required

Demonstrated/proven strong leadership, technical and interpersonal skills
Ability to handle multiple tasks and priorities
Working knowledge of AutoCAD, SolidWorks and Matlab
Valid US driver's license
Availability to work various shifts commensurate with project requirements
Currently enrolled as a Junior, Senior or Graduate student at an accredited college/university, earning a Bachelor or Master's degree in mechanical engineering
GPA of 3.0 or higher (no rounding)
Be enrolled in an accredited college/university pursuing a degree taking at least one class at time of application posting OR currently participating in a Disney College Program or Disney Internship
Be at least 18 years of age
Possess unrestricted work authorization
Have not completed one year of continual employment on a Disney internship or Disney College Program
Be compliant with The Disney Look appearance guidelines
Able to have a consistent, reliable work schedule throughout the internship
Fully available Monday thru Friday, PST for the duration of the internship, 40 hours each week
Able to provide own housing for the duration internship program in the Anaheim, CA area
Able to provide/have reliable transportation to/from work

Preferred

Prior related work experience is desired, including co-op/intern programs with a focus on engineering materials, hydraulics, pneumatics, electrical systems, control, or design
Previous Theme Park work experience
