Investigative Analyst (Criminal Research Specialist)
USAJOBS is seeking an Investigative Analyst (Criminal Research Specialist) for the Department of Housing and Urban Development in the Office of Inspector General. The role involves independent collection, analysis, evaluation, dissemination, and maintenance of information pertaining to investigations related to organized crime groups and individual subjects.

Responsibilities
Establish and utilize a variety of generally accepted methodologies for collecting, evaluating, and creating investigative data
Identify potential vulnerabilities in HUD programs and operations that contribute to criminal, civil, and administrative violations
Conduct continuing research, analysis, and assessments to ensure the researched material remains current and relevant
Perform analysis to structure patterns of violations, to identify organizations and individuals, their associates, and modus operandi
Utilize various software programs (including, but not limited to, SQL, ACL, MS Access, MS Excel, Maptitude, i2 Analyst's Notebook) and HUD databases to gather, summarize, and analyze statistical data on HUD program and investigative activities and prepare written reports, including statistical analysis showing trend analysis on criminal activities

Required
Must be U.S. Citizen or U.S. National
For the GS-13, specialized experience is one year of experience at the GS-12 level or equivalent in public or private sectors, that is directly related to the position and which has equipped the candidate with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position and that is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled
Specialized experience for this position includes: Applied criminology principles and data-driven statistical analysis to detect fraud patterns and program vulnerabilities, strengthening investigative outcomes and program integrity; AND Supported prosecutorial strategies and judicial proceedings, ensuring evidence-based case development; AND Implemented investigative methodologies for improving efficiency and accuracy in high-stakes investigations; AND Developed reports and related correspondence to impact projects or investigations
