Instrumentation/ Electrical Technician

Amrize is seeking an Instrumentation/ Electrical Technician to join their team at the Theodore Cement Plant. The role involves troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining electrical power and control systems within the plant, while ensuring adherence to safety protocols.

Responsibilities

Troubleshoot and repair a diverse range of electrical equipment throughout the cement plant (Example: Instrumentation circuits, motor control circuits up to 13.8 kilovolts, low and medium voltage drives, monitoring analyzers)
Assists/conducts preventative maintenance and repairs on electrical equipment
Schematic reading and instrumentation calibration
Digital and Analog PLC program use in troubleshooting
Low and medium voltage cable routing, splicing, and terminating
Basic mechanical activities (Non critical welding, laser alignment)
Perform walk-by inspections and diagnostic checks
Maintain documentation, plan and organize work, particpate in various team activities
Work with contractor personnel
Participates in formal and on-the job training programs to acquire/broaden both technical and non-technical job skills; participates in cross training activities
Other duties as assigned

Required

High School Diploma/GED
2-4 years industrial experience; equivalent education may be considered
General knowledge of electrical theory including electrical safety theory
High degree of accuracy and mathematical ability
The ability to operate electrical test equipment
Effective computer and systems skills
Successful candidates must adhere to all safety protocols and proper use of Amrize approved Personal Protection Equipment ("PPE"), including but not limited to respirators. Employees that are required to wear respirators must be clean shaven where the respirator seal meets the face in order to pass the qualitative and quantitative fit tests

2 years technical college in a related subject
