Security Officer - Logistics Access Control

Allied Universal, North America’s leading security and facility services company, is seeking a Security Officer - Logistics Access Control. In this role, you will monitor access points, conduct patrols, and provide exceptional customer service while ensuring a secure environment at a logistics and distribution location in Charleston, SC.

Responsibilities

Provide customer service by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies and, when appropriate, emergency response activities at the logistics and distribution location
Monitor and control access to the location, verifying credentials and authorizations of individuals entering and/or exiting the premises
Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, escalating issues as necessary
Conduct regular and random patrols around the facility and perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity and/or suspicious behavior
Document observations, incidents, and/or irregularities according to Allied Universal policies and client site requirements
Communicate and interact with staff, visitors, and/or vendors to provide assistance and enforce location-specific rules and regulations
Remain alert to potential security-related risks and report any unusual activity or potential hazards to the appropriate personnel

Required

At least one year of security-related experience is required
Applicants must be at least 21 years of age
Possess a high school diploma or equivalent
As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws
As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law
Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment
A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only

Access control or badge experience is preferred
Customer service experience is preferred
