Responsibilities
Establishes curriculum and develops educational programs relating to the biology and/or conservation of flora and fauna of the region
Develops and implements an effective media campaign including the development of promotional material
Solicits and trains volunteers and other staff as needed
Organizes and maintains volunteer support for a wide variety of activities, and maintains tracking system of volunteer activity
Writes and edits volunteer e-mail newsletter, media announcements, and other articles and publications relating to the educational program
Organizes resources for monthly educational programs and maintains tracking system of educational activities and participation
Presents at schools, clubs, and other outside organizations
Develops cooperative programs with other organizations and institutions
Implements in-house training programs
Photographs all program presentations and maintains educational displays
Performs related duties and fulfills responsibilities as required
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university
Two (2) years of relatable experience
Valid Class 'C' Texas Driver's License
Preferred
Experience in interpreting natural resource and cultural history topics to adults and children
Experience providing educational programs to urban populations
Familiarity with volunteer recruitment and engagement strategies
Knowledge of local flora and fauna
Special event management experience
Proficient in Microsoft Office applications
Experience in evaluating programs using performance measures and making adjustments to programs as needed
Experience collaborating with community groups
Fluent in English and Spanish
