Responsibilities

Provide initial and ongoing training to adjudicators, clerical staff, and external customers
Works collaboratively with managers, supervisors, and trainers within SI to ensure processes, products and training are consistent with SI claim management and auditing practices meeting the intent of RCW, WAC, and policies
Perform work checking of newly trained adjudicators to ensure accuracy of work
Responsible for mentoring, coaching and staffing with Self-Insurance adjudicators on a daily basis
Edit and assist in writing and updating training materials and resources including online resources
Verification that third party administrators (TPAs) are licensed and that individuals managing self-insured claims are certified

Required

Successful completion of the Department of Labor and Industries Workers' Compensation Adjudicator 2 Apprenticeship program AND one year of experience as a Workers' Compensation Adjudicator 3
OR Bachelor's degree AND three years of experience in adjudication of time-loss payments in a workers' or crime victim's compensation insurance program
OR Equivalent education/experience
The ability to take action to learn and grow
The ability to take action to meet the needs of others
Additional experience working with insurance claims, claims/insurance adjusting, claims investigations, disability management, claims risk management/loss control, medical billing, medical insurance, paralegal personal injury services or paramedical occupations will substitute, year for year, for required education

Preferred

Working knowledge of Washington's self-insurance system, rules and regulations is highly desirable
Thorough knowledge of RCWs, WACs, case law, and policies governing the workers' compensation system
