Recording Technician I – Land Records

Responsibilities

Processes electronic documents and completes eRecording in compliance with state statute and office policy
Performs quality control review of documents for accuracy, completeness, and eligibility for acceptance into the official public record
Creates permanent images of recorded documents in the Official Public Records using desk and large-format scanners, as well as acceptance of digital images submitted electronically
Records subdivision and land survey plats, ensuring compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements
Receives, scans, and updates the Monument Records book with Monument Record files received from the Department of Local Affairs
Performs records research and/or assists citizens in locating and accessing land record documents in accordance with office policies and procedures
Demonstrates appropriate validation techniques, using available resources, and meeting department expectations for excellent customer service
Collects and processes fees, balances daily transactions, and maintains accurate accounting records
Responds to inquiries regarding office procedures, requirements, and services, delivering professional and courteous customer service
Performs clerical work including data entry, scanning, indexing, and filing
Maintains confidentiality of sensitive information in accordance with laws and office policies
Supports team members and Managers in daily operations
Lives out the competencies outlined in the Vision, Mission, and Core Values of the Clerk and Recorder’s Office, fostering teamwork and a supportive work environment
Performs other duties as assigned in support of business operations, statutory compliance, and department needs
All Clerk & Recorder employees may be required to work in the Elections Division in any capacity necessary during election cycles

Required

High school diploma or GED equivalent required
U.S. Citizenship required. Sworn as agent of Clerk & Recorder's Office to discharge duties conveyed by CRS 30-10-406; registered with the Secretary of State

Preferred

One (1) years of customer service or clerical experience preferred, with direct public contact experience desirable
Experience handling cash or processing payments preferred
