Responsibilities
To perform a variety of skilled maintenance and minor repair services on a routine preventive and corrective basis for City vehicles and light equipment
Qualification
Required
Completion of a high school or vocational-technical school course in automotive mechanics
One (1) year of experience as an automotive mechanic or mechanic assistant
Possess a valid Arkansas Class D (Non-Commercial Vehicle) Driver's License before employment and maintain licensure for the duration of employment in this position
Possess the tools required for this position by the Department of Fleet Services within 6 months of employment and maintain required tools in working condition for the duration of employment in this position
Benefits
Regular part-time employees who work 1,500 hours shall receive six (6) days of Sick Leave upon the completion of the 1,500 hours.
If unused, this Sick Leave shall be allowed to accumulate to a maximum of fifteen (15) days (120 hours).
Regular part-time employees who were in pay status (vacation, sick leave, or actual hours worked) for at least 1,500 hours during the year shall receive the following Vacation Leave:
Up to 10 years of service (40 hrs.) = 5 days per year
10 years or more (60 hrs.) = 7-1/2 days per year
