This position provides the opportunity to assist with the restoration of unauthorized trails and disturbed areas throughout Jefferson County Open Space parks while working collaboratively with other trail staff and volunteers.

Responsibilities
Reclaiming impacted areas using heavy equipment, hand tools and power tools
Restoring, maintaining, and monitoring restoration sites throughout Jeffco Open Space properties
Conduct vegetation control and construct infrastructure such as stairs, rock walls, and fencing
Perform snow removal as needed
Assist the Trails Team in trail construction and maintenance projects
Qualification
Required
High school diploma or GED or equivalent certificate
One year of work-related experience
Note an equivalent combination of education and experience is acceptable
Requires ability to exert up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 25 pounds of force constantly to move objects
Criminal History and MVR Background Checks are required for every position
A valid Colorado driver's license is required for positions that drive on County Business in either a county or personal vehicle within 30-days of hire or beginning to serve as an intern or volunteer
Offer of employment contingent upon successful completion of criminal history, motor vehicle report, education verification, and/or references
Preferred
One or more years of specific trails maintenance/construction
Experience with Natural Resources and/or outdoor education
Additional course work in Natural Resource Management, Outdoor Recreation, Park Maintenance or related field
