Regulatory Enforcement Inspector

Responsibilities

Inspect businesses to determine if required equipment and materials are present, adequate, and properly maintained with regards to sanitary conditions, and the business records are in accordance with regulatory requirements; inspect occupational/professional schools to ensure required instructional equipment and materials are present and adequate, and the required school records are in accordance with regulatory requirements
Analyze facts of case information and applicable laws and regulations for the purpose of determining violations; issue citations when violations are discovered
Write narrative reports and complete inspection forms which include descriptions of violations or discrepancies found during the inspection and the applicable section(s) of the law, regulation, etc. cited
Verify licenses of businesses and/or individuals are properly displayed and current at physical locations and in all forms of advertising, and the licensee's name, address, and phone number are correct according to regulatory requirements
Provide explanations of the provisions of applicable laws, rules, and regulations to licensees and the general public to facilitate compliance

Required

Three years of experience involving interpersonal public contact and inspecting for compliance with rules and regulations and reporting related facts; or
An Associate's Degree and one year of experience involving interpersonal public contact and inspecting for compliance with rules and regulations and reporting related facts; or
Any equivalent combination of experience and training which included one year of experience involving interpersonal public contact and inspecting for compliance with rules and regulations and reporting related facts
Possession of a valid driver's license which is not under suspension
Must meet the PA residency requirement
Must be able to perform essential job functions
