Responsibilities
Develop and implement engaging and differentiated lesson plans that align with state standards and the Individualized Education Program (IEP)
Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages active participation, collaboration, and a love for learning
Use a variety of teaching methods to accommodate different learning styles and foster critical thinking and problem-solving skills
Assess student progress through formative and summative assessments, providing timely and constructive feedback to students and parents
Collaborate with fellow educators and support staff to create a cohesive and supportive learning community
Support the school's commitment to safety by implementing and adhering to safety protocols on campus
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's Degree or higher by the effective start date of the teaching position
Valid Hawaii teaching license or Emergency Hire Permit upon hire
Enrollment in a Teacher's Education Program if hired without completing one
Preferred
Valid Special Education license from the Hawaii Teacher Standards Board
Special education classroom experience in a K-12 school setting
Plan and facilitate Individualized Education Plan (IEP) meetings
Exercise independent and professional judgment in carrying out daily functions
Maintain an effective work pace under pressure to meet deadlines
Grasp new concepts quickly and apply them effectively
Work effectively with others
