DSHS FTAA Revenue Agent 3
NEOGOV is looking for a skilled and motivated Revenue Agent 3 to join the Department of Social and Health Services (DSHS) in Olympia, WA. This role involves leading recovery staff in multiple Estate Recovery programs, providing technical guidance, and mentoring staff to resolve complex collection issues.

Responsibilities
Primary trainer: provides detailed training plans for new Revenue Agents and includes any retraining needed for existing Revenue Agents
Provides technical guidance in investigation techniques and the use of appropriate legal remedies
Perform monthly quality audits, to address any training issues to ensure daily work is meeting compliance standards. Provide monthly audit meetings with staff and supervisor
Work personal caseload
Perform functions of lower-level staff in their absence to maintain standards and monitor those cases for developing trends and issues of legal nature, procedural processes and caseload work, to include Special Needs Trust and Annuities
Approve 2nd level negotiations, settlements of claims and waiver/write-off of collections in accordance with delegated Administrative Signature Authority
Suggest, plan and develop new strategies needed to accomplish required recovery action
Propose policies/procedures to enhance recovery and develop/provide written instructions for staff and the Estate Recovery Manual for ERB Web processes
Keep manual, instructions, Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s) and desk aids up to date
Acts as a liaison with accounting and cash units resolving accounting/posting associated issues
Provide training and technical assistance on the use of the Estate Recovery system to stakeholders
Responds to Public Disclosure Request and Constituent Complaints within 2 hours of notice
First line of response for complaint calls
Monitor phone system to ensure phone coverage, communicating to staff and keeping supervisor updated
Qualification
Required

Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Two years of experience as a Revenue Agent 2
A Bachelor's degree studying business administration, accounting, public administration, police science, economics, criminal justice, sociology, psychology, law or, closely related field AND two years of experience in the field of personal or business finance, tax auditing, law, law enforcement, adjustment of claims, examination and analysis of business tax records, collection of civil debts or other related field
An equivalent amount of combined professional experience and education
