Responsibilities
Assists with compliance issues related to licensing applications
Reviews records requested as part of an investigation and/or inspection
Helps prepare and organize evidence files needed for potential cases/hearings
Performs routine compliance inspections of permitted locations throughout the state with emphasis on nontraditional pharmacy settings where drugs and/or devices are stored or maintained and joint inspections and investigations with the Mississippi Board of Medical Licensure, Mississippi Board of Nursing, or other regulatory agency collaboration
Conducts complaint investigations and accountability audits when necessary
Serves as a liaison between the Pharmacy Board and other related agencies
Offers technical knowledge and expertise to the practice and regulation of pharmacy including knowledge of compounding standards and guidelines
Qualification
Required
Must have technical knowledge involving the practice of pharmacy and distribution of drugs
Must be familiar with drugs both by brand name and generic name
Must have knowledge of computers and develop skills in the application of computers in the storage and retrieval of information which is required to be maintained in facilities permitted by the Mississippi Board of Pharmacy
Must develop working knowledge and proficiency in the use of agency tools and resources for inspections and investigations (i.e. software, surveillance equipment, etc)
Ability to take direction as part of a team and work with other agencies (MBML, MBON, DEA, etc)
Limited overnight travel
Typically requires state licensure as a Pharmacist
4-5 years of experience as a Pharmacist
